PINK FA - AN INTRODUCTION
Pink F.A. are (to our knowledge) the only band currently playing exclusively Pink Fairies Material. We don't like to think of our selves as a tribute band, more that we play fairies songs our own way.
Regards and big guitars.

REVIEW BY ROB DREAMWORKER
Pink FA played a mixture of numbers from the three core albums by the Pinks. And they did so in the finest Fairies tradition - they were loud (insanely so, in fact), playing hard and fast (with the occasional minor slip-up - also very authentic) and clearly having a ball. This was one of those nights where you enjoy watching the delight on the faces of the audience as another number kicks off, their memories flood back and their grins stretch from ear to ear. Well worth making the effort to go and see.
Setlist:
Do It
Say You Love Me
The Snake
I Wish I Was A Girl
Portobello Shuffle
City Kids
Uncle Harry's Last Freakout/Walk Don't Run (just the main guitar riff, no lyrics tragically)
Street Urchin
Encore: I Saw Her Standing There
(about 55 mins)
Cheers. Rob.
REVIEW BY PAUL COX- (MUZE) OF THE DVD MADE OF THIS GIG
Last night I managed to watch the Pink F.A. DVD. At first I was thinking they need to be a bit tighter, there's some bum notes, etc, but then I realised that we're spoilt these days by tribute bands who can reproduce albums 'live' better than the original artists ever could... and then I thought 'Hang on, if they're a bit ropey, surely that makes 'em more faithful to the Pink Fairies live experience!'.
Anyway, by the time they got to the first Lazza song (track 4, "I Wish I Was A Girl") they began to loosen up and I began to get more into it so that by the end I was enjoying it as much as they seemed to be! And I must say I was impressed by the camerawork & editing - no unnecessary special effects clogging up the footage, just sparingly used to cut out the gaps between songs - and steady shooting without irritating angle jumps! Simple is best!

Another great gig by Pink F.A. It's always wonderful to see & hear the Pinks music performed live. See my review from the gig below (9th June, 2004) for more info!

I didn't know before the gig that this was Pink F.A.'s first outing and I didn't guess from the performance! The Venue (The Bull and Gate in Kentish Town) was pretty good. Nice to be able to see the stage from the main bar through monitors with changing images from multiple cameras. A bottle of Newcastle Brown - Three Quid? But then that's London Prices for ya! :-( But at least it was cold! :-)
Great to hear a selection of Pink Fairies songs flying through the air live! Also good to see Nik Turner guesting with them. A trip back in time to when Nik and members of the other 'community band' Hawkwind would get up on stage with the Pinks. We didn't shoot any video as the band were doing their own, although we recorded two songs while Nik was guesting which can be seen by using the links below. These two videos and the others on this page are all hosted on Kev.MercuryMoon.co.uk and used with his permission.
